Voting

I am pleased Gov. Tom Wolf is moving forward with a funding plan for new voting systems across the commonwealth. The governor’s funding plan is similar to the Senate Democrats’ Junio proposal, which would have reimbursed counties for 100 percent of all costs to acquire new voting machines. It is critical that we maintain the security of our elections and follow recommendations made on the state and federal level to ensure our votes cannot be compromised. This plan helps do that, as well as providing our counties with the means to pay for new voting systems without diverting funds from other important priorities. I thank the governor and the Pennsylvania Department of State for the work done to fund security upgrades through new voting systems, which will preserve the security of each vote.
