In response to continued shutdowns because of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the city of Philadelphia is partnering with Share Food Program and Philabundance to get food to residents in need during this public health crisis.

The sites are open Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Residents can pick up one box per household. Supplies will last up to five days. Residents do not need to present an ID or proof of income for eligibility.

The city continues to offer free student meal sites at 49 schools. You can get the full list here.

There are also plenty of ways to get food in Montgomery County and across the region if you know people in need and want to share information. We want to make sure everyone has access to food during this crisis.

REMINDER
Organizations like MANNA and Meals on Wheels need your help during this pandemic. Please reach out to these great organizations if you’re able to help others.

You can also donate or volunteer with The Food TrustMontgomery County Hunger Action NetworkPhilabundance, and Share Food Program (email). We also recommend contacting community nonprofits, churches and organizations to find out how you can seek or give help during the public health crisis.

Remember, you can do your part to stop the spread of the virus by staying home!

Here are some reminders about preventing spread of the disease:

What are the symptoms of coronavirus? 
Symptoms of the COVID-19 can include: 

  • Fever 
  • Cough 
  • Shortness of breath  

The symptoms may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure. Reported illnesses have ranged from people with little to no symptoms to people being severely ill and dying.  
What to do if you think you have coronavirus COVID-19, according to the CDC

  • Stay home except to get medical care 
  • Separate yourself from other people and animals in your home 
  • Call ahead before visiting your doctor 
  • Wear a facemask if you are sick 
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes 
  • Clean your hands often 
  • Avoid sharing personal household items 
  • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces everyday
