March is Women’s History Month and throughout the month, you’ll see people honoring the wonderful accomplishments of women and their amazing contributions to the betterment of our society. We all know stories of women such as Harriet Tubman, who pioneered on the Underground Railroad; Rosa Parks, whose challenge to Jim Crow helped fuel the national civil rights movement; or Marie Curie and her many contributions to science, but we know women’s history goes so much further.
This year’s theme celebrates Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
The theme, which is designated by the National Women’s History Alliance each year, recognizes women across the country who understand that for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions.
Spotlight on the PA Women Who Have Shaped History
Michelle Obama, Marian Anderson, Harriet Tubman, Ida Tarbell, Marie Curie and Rosa Parks all boast great accomplishments, but we want to hear about women and the accomplishments you see. Be sure to honor the special women you know!
