I am grateful to have support of my colleagues on Senate Bill 502, which provides a clearer and less difficult path for crime victims and their families as they deal with the justice system. SB 502 will help ensure victims are provided with complete information about the status of their cases, as well as making compensation for victim’s compensation more accessible and easier to use. Special thanks to Sens. Camera Bartolotta and Art Haywood working with me on this bill. I am hopeful SB 502 and the other bills in the second phase of the Justice Reinvestment Initiative are supported by the House of Representatives and signed into law by Gov. Tom Wolf in the near future.
