PHILADELPHIA, Mar. 31, 2011 – Senator Hughes (D – Philadelphia/Montgomery) will join members of Wells Fargo, the Salvation Army and Philadelphia City Council for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Wells Fargo Community Conference and Training Center at the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Family Center.

Senator Hughes secured a $3.45 million state grant, working with former Governor Edward Rendell to anchor the $69 million construction of the Salvation Army Kroc Center.

The center, which opened last year, houses numerous programs that address the economic, educational, health, recreational and spiritual needs of the communities it serves. The programs are provided in an inclusive manner and regardless of ability to pay.
