September 10, 2025 – Senator Vincent Hughes, Senate Democratic Appropriations Chair, announced more than $14.9M in funding for Philadelphia and Montgomery County to strengthen victim support and provide critical recovery resources. The grants were awarded by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
“Too many of our neighbors are living with the trauma of violence, and it’s important that we give them every resource possible to heal and rebuild,” said Senator Hughes. “This investment ensures our local organizations have the support they need to stand alongside survivors and help prevent further harm.”
The funding comes from the Federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funds, Violence Against Women Formula Grant program funds, and PCCD general operations funds. These dollars will directly support dozens of local organizations that provide essential services to victims of crime, domestic violence survivors, immigrant communities, and underserved neighborhoods.
