Sen. Hughes works with Gov. Wolf to deliver $20 million in economic development grants to the 7th Senatorial District

State grants awarded to projects in our communities will help spur recovery, jobs in key areas

COVID Vaccine

I am very pleased to announce that $19,350,000 in redevelopment grants were awarded to important projects in the 7th Senatorial District.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Capital Assistance Program (RACP) allocated millions of dollars to worthy projects across the commonwealth, including 20 in the district. These diverse projects will have an incredible impact on the district, helping train workers, provide fresh food, promoting the arts and so much more. I am eager to see the projects completed for the good of our people.

I believe the RACP program is one of the key tools to help our economy recover from this pandemic and to boost growth in the 7th Senatorial District on a consistent basis. I am grateful to Gov. Tom Wolf for his investments in development across Pennsylvania.

This pandemic has exposed great needs in communities all across the commonwealth. I am hopeful that with the RACP investment, and others of that kind, we can begin to see substantive growth in our communities with the most need.

REMEMBER: We are still in the middle of a pandemic. Public health and safety remains our top priority. Wear your mask, practice social distancing and follow public health officials’ recommendations to stay safe and help us overcome the coronavirus COVID-19.
