Propose measures to improve safety for young children in school, day care
HARRISBURG, March 22, 2016 – As headlines spread about the emergence of lead in water supplies and in generations-old buildings, Senate Democratic Appropriations Committee Chairman Vince Hughes will lead the call at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, in the Senate Democratic Caucus Room to demand better information for Pennsylvanians and to propose legislation that would require more frequent testing and remediation assistance where lead is a problem.
Hughes will be joined by Sens. Shirley Kitchen (D-Philadelphia), John Yudichak (D-Luzerne), and Wayne Fontana (D-Allegheny), among others, during the press conference.
Medical and environmental experts will also participate.
