HARRISBURG, March 16, 2016 – State Sen. Vincent Hughes today congratulated the Please Touch Museum for its excellent work to raise millions in new support and emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, as scheduled.

“The wonder has been restored to Please Touch Museum’s Wonderland exhibit and all of the great features that make this destination a wonderful experience for children and families,” Sen. Hughes said after learning about the Fairmount Park’s news.

“My congratulations to CEO Patricia Wellenbach and the many donors and creditors who realized that educational opportunities like the ones presented at the Please Touch Museum should be continued.

“Many children have learned how to ride a SEPTA bus, race sailboats, go down a rabbit hole, and growing their own food at the Please Touch Museum. Who knows how many dreams – and dreamers – have been inspired by this wonderful place – and will continue to be inspired for years to come.”

Please Touch Museum had raised about $8 million of the funds it needed to emerge from Chapter 11.

U.S. Bankruptcy Court today approved the museum’s restructuring plan.
