Everyone is invited to join me, my staff and the City Ave Special Services District to my upcoming Neighborhood Fall Festival, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14 at High School of the Future, 4021 Parkside Ave. in Philadelphia.  

This event is a neighborhood festival with a purpose. It’s an opportunity for folks to talk to me and my staff, gain access to valuable information and enjoy a fun-filled day out in the community with their neighbors and friends. I welcome everyone to join us. 

9 a.m. to noon: FREE document shredding event. 

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Resource tables and family-friendly activities and entertainment:

  • Health and wellness station
  • Money Matters Workshops
  • “Anger to Action” Worskops
  • VA Medical center and Vet Center will be accepting and processing claims and answering questions
  • Organizations with information about civic and community engagement
  • Kids Zone
  • Sassy Seniors Pavilion
  • Food, live music and line dancing
  • “Play Zone” for children by Smith Playground
  • Science2TheMax will offer fun STEM activities
  • Performance by Clef Club Alumni Jazz Ensemble
  • College Readiness workshops for middle and high school students
  • Job Training and “Ready, Set, Go To College workshops for adults
  • Special workshops for parents on dealing with ADHD and Parent/Child Relationships
