Philadelphia Community Stakeholders to lead dialogue on needs and concerns to ensure a successful school year

Telephone Town Hall -August 6, 2020

Philadelphia’s public schools will begin the academic year online and I want to invite you to a conversation with the Philadelphia Community Stakeholders to discuss the important issues.

The telephone town hall will take place at 6 p.m., Thursday, August 6. You can RSVP for the conversation at senatorhughes.com/teletownhall.

I will be joined by Dawn Chavous, Sandra Dungee-Glenn and Dr. Cassandra Jones of Philadelphia Community Stakeholders, who are looking to document the issues and concerns that parents and guardians may have as children return to school virtually. Our goal is to ensure that the community concerns are heard and acted upon so that our young learners can have a successful academic year.

Understanding that we cannot get to everyone’s concerns on the call, there is a brief survey for parents and guardians on my website to help capture your responses. That survey can be found here: senatorhughes.com/survey/.

As we continue to work to find a new normal in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical we have conversations about the needs of Philadelphia students and their families. I look forward to hearing from you at 6 p.m., Thursday, August 6. Don’t forget to RSVP here.
