The Philadelphia area remains the epicenter of the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak in Pennsylvania. So far 133 positive cases have been reported in the commonwealth with 42 coming in Montgomery County and 17 in Philadelphia. Other Philly suburbs also are reporting a number of cases: Bucks, 9; Chester, 9; Delaware, 14. The state’s first virus-related death was reported Miércoles in Northampton County.

Amid mounting concerns as a result of statewide closing recommendations and social distancing, the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus wrote the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to request they suspend eviction and foreclosure proceedings while the coronavirus mitigation efforts are in effect. People need peace of mind during these times and if we are asking them to stay home, they must have a home to remain in, Sen. Hughes said.
