PHILADELPHIA, Septiembre 9th, 2013 – State Senator Vincent Hughes will join with Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks), Rep. Cherelle Parker (D-Philadelphia) and other elected officials for a discussion on Medicaid expansion sponsored by the Cover the Commonwealth Campaign on Martes, Septiembre 10th at 3pm in Philadelphia City Hall, Room 401 (Caucus Room).
Expanding Medicaid through the Affordable Care Act would provide health insurance for 500,000 working adults in Pennsylvania. However, Governor Tom Corbett has thus far refused to commit to accepting the federal funds. A bipartisan group of lawmakers and advocates will join together to discuss the benefits of participating in this program and plans for the upcoming legislative session.
