Today, the U.S. Senate very narrowly voted to move forward with efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. In fact, it was a 50-50 vote, and the vice president cast the tie-breaking vote.

As soon as next week, the Senate may vote to either repeal the Affordable Care Act, or repeal it and replace it with the Republicans’ so-called the Better Care Reconciliation Act.
A flat-out repeal of the Affordable Care Act will result in 32 million Americans losing their health insurance. The Republican repeal-and-replace plan will lead to 22 million Americanslosing their health coverage.
If these efforts are successful, the consequences will be immediate and devastating.
