Senator Christine Tartaglione, Gov. Ed Rendell, Senator Vincent Hughes

On Viernes, Julio 9, on the 15th anniversary of the signing of Senate Bill 1090 (Act 112 of 2006) – the last increase in Pennsylvania’s minimum wage — Sens. Christine M. Tartaglione and Vincent J. Hughes, along with Gov. Tom Wolf, Attorney General Josh Shapiro, U.S. Rep. Dwight Evens and state House leaders will host a Reenactment and Rally at the site of the original bill signing at Sharon Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

It has been far too long since a Pennsylvania Governor has signed a minimum wage increase into law, and these signings could be relegated to history with passage of new legislation that would remove the politics through an automatic annual adjustment.

Many of those — both active and retired — who were present in 2006 will attend the reenactment inside the church, before a rally and media availability outside immediately following.  Inside, the church is requiring masks and social distancing, as well as email information for attendees in the unlikely event contact tracing is necessary.  Crowd size will be limited to 150.

Your coverage is encouraged and invited.  Parking is plentiful on site.
