Celebración de la historia del jazz en Filadelfia

Philadelphia has a strong history with the legacy of jazz and is home to many great jazz legends. Musicians like Lee Morgan, John Coltrane, and Butch Ballard all have strong connections to city of Philadelphia and West Philadelphia in particular.

Senator Hughes recently spent time with fellow jazz lovers around the district to honor the history of some of Philadelphia’s jazz legends and landmarks.

Senator Hughes joined All That Philly Jazz to recognize the 85th birthday of Lee Morgan, one of the biggest names in jazz! Mr. Morgan was born and raised in Philadelphia and gave his last hometown performance at the Aqua Lounge in West Philly.

Senator Hughes joined Strawberry Mansion Community Development Corp to learn more about new designs for the Yard on John Coltrane Street. It was a wonderful community gathering for neighbors to learn more about the important cultural and historical landmark.
