Programa de ayuda de emergencia al alquiler

Good news for people those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and have had trouble paying rent: Rental and utility assistance programs are open and on the horizon.

Montgomery County’s Rent and Utility Relief Program, administered by Your Way Home is now accepting applications. Eligible households to receive up to 12 months of assistance for rent and utility bills dating back to Marzo 13, 2020. More than $55 million in funding is available through this program, including $11.1 million allocated by the state legislature that my colleagues in the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus and I fought for to help people in need.

That assistance can be for past due rent and/or utility payments or future rent payments. Funding for security deposits, first and/or last month of rent is also eligible as part of the program. There is no financial limit on the amount of assistance a household can receive.

Philadelphia has not begun taking Emergency Rental Assistance Program but you can get more information here and be ready to apply when the program opens later this month. The city has helped keep people in their homes through three sets of aid and plans to open the fourth phase of assistance in the very near future.

This unprecedented pandemic has wreaked havoc on so many of our people. We understand that many of you have suffered through this pandemic through no fault of your own and want to provide resources and assistance so we can all get through this together. Please apply if you are in need.

Remember, we are still in the middle of a pandemic. You can do your part to help the #StopTheVirus campaign Sheryl and I have launched by doing these three things: Get a mask, get the test, get the vaccine.
