Se abre un programa de ayudas a la vivienda de 175 millones de dólares para inquilinos y propietarios

Sen. Hughes and the PA Senate Democrats fought to include program in COVID-19 relief

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Authority is working with organizations across the commonwealth’s 67 counties to help ensure people hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic can get much-needed assistance to help with housing costs.

The $175 million housing assistance program is designed to help renters and homeowners across Pennsylvania. Please visit the website above to apply or to get more information about guidelines.

This aid was a part of the Pennsylvania CARES Plan my colleagues in the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus and I pushed for to help recovery for those hit hardest by the pandemic. I want to encourage anyone who has been affected by the pandemic and is struggling to pay their rent or mortgage to look into the program and see if you qualify.

I have also joined with my colleagues in the Senate Democratic Caucus to call on Gov. Tom Wolf to extend the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures beyond Julio 10. No one wins if we have thousands of people losing their homes in a week, and we know housing is key to people leading healthy and stable lives.

REMINDER: Pennsylvania is in the Green Phase, but we still need you to wear your masks when you go into businesses and may interact with large groups of people. It is critical we take the necessary steps to continue to slow the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.
