Big Win for PA renters and small businesses!

General Assembly sends COVID-19 relief package to Gov. Wolf for signature

Senate Bill 109

I am pleased to announce the Pennsylvania General Assembly has passed legislation that would provide much-needed aid to our people and communities in the very near future, including $570 million in rental and utility assistance, $145 million for small business aid and $200 million in funding for our schools.

I want to focus on the rental and utility assistance funding because I understand how critical housing is in keeping people healthy and safe, especially during this unprecedented pandemic. Philadelphia is set to receive $57.7 million in aid. Montgomery County is set receive $11.1 million in aid. County entities will distribute the rental assistance funds.

I will provide an update when applications for rental and utility assistance are made available through this format and social media. Please be sure to apply for help if you need it and be sure to share within your respective communities.

We will get through this pandemic together. Rest assured my colleagues and I in the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus will continue to fight for issues like this in Pennsylvania, as well as advocating for more federal relief.
