2 Million Pennsylvanians Will Lose Their SNAP Benefits if Republicans Don’t Act
SNAP recipients will not receive benefits in November unless Republicans end the government shutdown
It was announced this week that the Republican government shutdown will now impact SNAP recipients. The Department of Human Services has sounded the alarm that Pennsylvania will not receive payments for November because of the ongoing Republican government shutdown.
Back when Republicans passed the Big Ugly Bill over the summer, Senator Hughes and Governor Shapiro made clear that Pennsylvania did not have the money to cover healthcare and food support cuts that Republicans supported. Now we’re seeing in real time what happens when the federal government doesn’t provide the funding for crucial programs like SNAP.
Over 700,000 Pennsylvania children rely on SNAP for their day to day meals
