Cuts proposed in the Republican Big Ugly Bill would strip $18B in SNAP benefits from households with children. It would be the biggest cut to food assistance in American history.

In Pennsylvania, over 400,000 residents would be at risk of losing some of their food assistance, including many children.

On a broader scale, the bill would raise the cost of groceries for up to 2 million Pennsylvanians. And the cuts could force between $212 million and $1.06 billion in new costs onto Pennsylvania.

No state has the capacity to cover the devastation of these cuts. Visit our website to learn more about what’s included in the big, ugly bill.
