30,000 Book Giveaway!

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend to participate in the Reading Opens the World Literacy Fair that Senator Hughes co-hosted in partnership with the American Federation of Teachers, the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, and Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson.

More than 2,500 Philadelphians joined us to enjoy free books and show their love of reading.

Attendees received free books, Legos, health screenings, food, and laptop giveaways. It was an incredible event that celebrated reading, education, and families learning together.

The tremendous turnout showed that the community wants more access to books and more learning resources for our children. Senator Hughes is committed to doing more!
