PHILADELPHIA − April 3, 2019 – Senator Vincent Hughes (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) will stand with POWER Interfaith, UNITE HERE and other supporters of the Marriott hotel workers seeking better working conditions.
The prayer vigil and protest of poor working conditions is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at 12th and Filbert Streets. Marriott hotel workers are seeking a fair process as a means to improve wages, schedules, health care and other necessary benefits.
At 6:01 p.m. the group will join in a collective prayer for the workers’ cause to commemorate the time the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot.
