The Pennsylvania Senate Democrats are hosting a screening of  the 1971 documentary “Keep Your Trash,” followed by a discussion on economic justice to close out the 30-day statewide Call to Action on the Crisis of Poverty and Economic Insecurity at the capitol.  The film screening will begin at 4:30 p.m. April 30 and will feature “Keep Your Trash,” which recounts the events surrounding the historic 1968 Memphis Sanitation Workers’ strike and the assassination of the Rev. It is my pleasure to host the Annual District Day at Tustin Recreation Center on Saturday, August 17 from noon till 8 p.m. It is exciting to partner with West Philadelphia Financial Services Institution, State Representative Morgan Cephas & Councilman Curtis Jones Jr.on this annual celebration in the heart of our districts!

Along with the fun and entertainment provided, featuring Urban Guerilla Orchestra, we hope you’ll take advantage of the many resources that are available in the areas of education, health, employment and community engagement. I encourage you to meet new friends and catch up with your neighbors, interact with your elected representatives and visit our resource tables. I have invited several organizations to share their amazing work with you in the hopes that you can utilize their services in the future and work with them to improve our community.
