Getting Results: New Affordable Housing Coming to West Philly
Earlier this week, I was extremely proud to help lead the groundbreaking of Centennial Village, a new affordable housing development at 52nd and Parkside Ave in West Philadelphia. I have been involved with this project since the beginning and know how much West Philadelphia needs more housing options for seniors and working families.
I am pleased to report that I was able to secure a significant amount of state funding for the $20 million project. I worked with Mayor Michael Nutter, Congressman Chaka Fattah, State Representative Louise Bishop and Councilman Curtis Jones, along with the Parkside Association, and other agencies including the PA Housing Finance Agency, the Philadelphia Office of Housing and Community Development, the Redevelopment Authority, and PHA to line up the funding and technical support.
Please share this good news with your friends, family, and neighbors. Together, we can spread the word that West Philadelphia and the rest of the 7th Senatorial District in on the move!
