Senator Hughes Re-Elected Senate Democratic Appropriations Chairman

Hello,

Senator HughesIt is with great pride that I am pleased to announce my re-election as Senate Democratic Appropriations Chairman. I am extremely grateful to my Democratic colleagues who have once again given me this responsibility.

I am also very excited to work with Governor-elect Tom Wolf and his incoming administration. I know that together we can put Pennsylvania back on the right track. This includes fully funding public education, jump-starting our economy to create good jobs, addressing economic inequality and wage stagnation, and expanding access to high quality health insurance for all Pennsylvanians.

We will also need to get our fiscal house in order. The policies of the outgoing administration have created serious financial problems for the state that will need to be addressed. That means passing a responsible state budget instead of relying on one-time revenue and gimmicks.

Once again, I want to thank my Democratic colleagues for choosing me to be the Senate Democratic Appropriations Chairman and congratulate the rest of the leadership team. Together, I am confident that we can build a better Pennsylvania and provide a strong voice for working families in Harrisburg.

Thanks,

Senator Hughes
