MONEY MATTERS – A Former President Weighs in on What it Takes to Put American Citizens Back to Work and Move This Country Forward
Recently, former President Bill Clinton presented his “14 Global Initiatives” in a Newsweek article. Upon hearing that title, one might think you need to be an economist or at the very least, have earned a doctorate in International Relations. But actually, these 14 global initiatives are easy to understand and smart ways to move our country forward – from cutting through red tape to training employees on the job. Additionally, some of these ideas (such as removing corporate tax loopholes) have been presented by my colleagues and me for moving Pennsylvania forward.
These 14 initiatives are not only worth reading, but they should also be a part of serious discussions with all of us – legislators, business leaders and constituents alike. What might be most impressive about this list of initiatives is the fact that they are based on policies and procedures that work. There is nothing experimental here. These are common sense, best practices that with a little bit of attention and investment could have significant rewards for our country and its hard-working citizens.
