40,000 Jobs for Pennsylvanians
On Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, I joined my Senate Democratic
colleagues in unveiling
“PA Works” – a 6-point plan,
which has potential to spur the creation of tens
of thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania. While
creating these jobs, PA Works reduces state
spending, puts a focus on helping small
businesses, rebuilds our crumbling
infrastructure and fosters innovation, and does
not increase taxes to do so.
The plan focuses on 6 key areas:
• Small Business
• Workforce Training
• Critical State Investments
• Clean and Green Energy
• Infrastructure Investment
• Tax Fairness

PA Works will spur the creation of over 40,000
jobs and leverage over $2 billion in new private
investment. In addition, PA Works will result in
more than $150 million in general fund savings.
In the coming weeks, my colleagues and I in the
Senate Democratic Caucus will be introducing
several pieces of legislation which forward each
component of the PA Works plan. Stay tuned for
