Hughes Holds “Holiday Affair with a
Flair” to Benefit SHARE Food Program of
PA
My wife, Sheryl Lee Ralph,
and I hosted our annual holiday event, “Holiday
Affair with a Flair,” on December 20 at World
Café Live. The event was huge, with several
hundred people attending, all eager to give to
the
SHARE Food Program of Pennsylvania (Self-Help
and Resource
Exchange), which serves
Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Metro New
York and the Maryland Eastern Shore.
Admission to the annual event was
either a monetary donation, gift card or
donation of a non-perishable good. Attendees
donated a total of 5,000 pounds of food, and
over $3000 in cash was raised.
Food
banks and charities around the country continue
to experience shortages as a result of the
difficult economic conditions all of us have
been facing. The number of food bank clients has
been growing as people who never visited food
banks before are asking for assistance due to
various economic burdens, including loss of jobs
and the high prices of food, gas, etc. It is
never too late to help your local community,
friends and neighbors by donating to your local
food bank. We certainly do not need a party to
do so!
I would like to thank all
those who came out and donated to this very
important cause. Your generosity is greatly
appreciated. Click
