Bernard “The Pulse” Congleton
Retires
Bernard
Congleton, the pulse of our 7th Senate
District Office, has retired. For nearly
two decades, his voice and his
personality greeted thousands of callers
and visitors to our office. Having
previously served with the U.S. Railroad
Retirement Board, Bell Telephone, and
the U.S. Air Force, Bernard brought a
diverse set of skills to his position.
As a key member of our front-line staff,
Bernard was always integrally involved
with helping to execute many special
programs and signature events that we
have implemented over the years. In
addition to his Senate work, Bernard has
had a long history of actively serving
his community as a Democratic Committee
Person for the 44thWard, a Judge of
Elections, and a highly respected youth
mentor and drum major for the Conestoga
Angels Drill Team.
“Your shoes will be hard to fill” is one
of the greatest compliments that anyone
can receive after serving in a
particular capacity. It is easy to apply
this adage to Bernard in recognition of
his exemplary service to our senate
office. We will miss Bernard’s energy,
commitment and dedication to doing his
job with excellence.
On Thursday, April 29, we will host a
SURPRISE Retirement Party for Bernard at
the Park Avenue Banquet Hall, 4942
Parkside Ave., Philadelphia, PA. We look
forward to sending Bernard off in style!

Welcome Tammy Hoskins
Stepping into Bernard’s administrative
shoes is Tammy Hoskins. Tammy, a native
of Philadelphia, holds a bachelor’s
degree in communications from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania as well as a
degree in computer engineering from the
University of Phoenix. When she’s not
greeting visitors and juggling my
schedule, Tammy enjoys spending lots of
time with her three-year-old daughter,
checking out the newest tech gadgets,
reading, and experimenting with
different culinary delights.
